372 Operational Documentation Specialist

Location: NSWCDD Dahlgren, Va

Clearance Required: Secret

 Mandatory Requirements

  • Operational experience onboard SSN submarines
  • Experience with Tomahawk employment while serving as FT2–FTCS

Key Responsibilities / Tasking

  • Provide SSN Fleet Support
  • Develop operating procedures for Fire Control Systems onboard SSN submarines supporting the SLCM-N weapons system
  • Prepare and maintain:
    • Programming documentation
    • Systems operation documentation
    • User documentation
  • Translating business specifications into user documentation
  • Plan, write, and maintain systems and user support documentation
  • Apply standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to operational and technical documentation

Education & Experience Requirements/Compensation Details 

Junior Level: Salary $55,000 – $60,000

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; or four (4) years of demonstrated subject matter expertise to perform the tasks identified below, which may be concurrent with the qualifications below; or US Naval operational experience at the E4 level or higher.
  • In addition, six (6) years of hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of Strategic Weapon System (SWS) equipment aboard a Ship Submersible Ballistic Nuclear (SSBN) Submarine. Experience in developing, maintaining, and/or using SSBN Operating Procedures, Standard maintenance Procedures, Casualty Procedures, Corrective Maintenance Procedures, and other reference documentation required to maintain the SWS at a high state of readiness.

Mid-Level: Salary $80,000 – $85,000

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from an accredited college or university; or four (4) years of a demonstrated knowledge base and subject matter expertise in the discipline of operational/technical documentation functions and applications, including the qualifications below; or US Naval operational experience at the E4 level or higher.
  • In addition, six (6) years of work-related experience demonstrating both a comprehensive knowledge of word processing software applications and office practices and a high degree of skill in applying software functions to prepare complex and detailed documents in Microsoft (MS) Office including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, and MS Project.

Senior Level: Salary $90,000 – $95,000

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from an accredited college or university; or five (5) years of a demonstrated knowledge base and subject matter expertise in the discipline of operational/technical documentation functions and applications, including the qualifications below; or US Naval operational experience at the E7 level or higher.
  • In addition, ten (10) years of work-related experience demonstrating both a comprehensive knowledge of word processing software applications and office practices and a high degree of skill in applying software functions to prepare complex and detailed documents in Microsoft (MS) Office including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, and MS Project.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of:
    • Documentation processes
    • Strategic, combat, and/or weapon system equipment
    • Targeting documentation
    • Operational documentation
    • Training documentation
  • Minimum five (5) years of work-related experience demonstrated:
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including:
    • MS Outlook; MS Word; MS Excel; MS PowerPoint; MS Access; MS Project.
    • Strong word processing and office administration skills
    • Ability to prepare complex and detailed technical documents

Specialized Experience Requirements

  • Six (6) years of concurrent specialized experience in three or more of the following areas:
    • Operation of SLBM Fire Control Systems
    • Operation of Tomahawk Weapons Control Systems
    • Operating experience in SSBN Weapons Systems
    • Direct fleet documentation support

378 Financial Analyst

Location- Dahlgren, VA/NSWCDD- Onsite

Clearance Secret required

Education/Professional Certifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or
  • Five (5) years demonstrated experience analyzing program budgets.

Tasking:

  • Track financial commitments/obligations/expenditures of various B30 projects.
  • Accept incoming funding documents for projects across B30.
  • Work with B30 team to create financial understanding of projects.
  • Create and provide NWAs/Government charge codes to Government personnel and track financial expenditures against those codes; Close NWAS/charge codes as necessary.
  • Provide financial planning/tracking of B30 projects.
  • Analyze need for and send funding to contractors.
  • Assist and track incremental funding.
  • Create cost estimates and analyze cost estimates for accuracy; Assist in creation of spend plans.
  • Work with Government SMEs to develop ROMs and Task Planning Sheets.
  • Provide weekly and monthly deliverables, as well as periodic deliverables such as financial slides to support division briefs, sponsor reports, and weekly execution reports as required.
  • Assist and brief Government SMEs with financial status weekly and provide information for financial reviews.
  • Gather financial information for Government SMEs, as requested.
  • Aid the Program Manager in responding to budgetary data calls at the Branch, Division, and Department level by providing financial data and analysis.
  • Research, evaluate and analyze data to make sound business recommendations according to business rules.

Specialized Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze current and past financial data and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare reports and projections based on this analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Demonstrated ability to reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Demonstrated experience using advanced Microsoft Excel functions to produce graphs, charts, and pivot tables

379 Sr. Systems Administrator (Linux)

Location: NSWCDD, Dahlgren VA On-Site

Clearance: Secret

Certifications: Linux system administration.

Tasking:

  • Build, configure security requirements, update, and install required software on Red Hat and EPEL.
  • Create build disks for Linux OS to support new system deployment and rebuild of deployed systems.
  • Create and support local Linux user accounts;
  • Support storage infrastructure with Access Control Lists.
  • Configure and maintain virtual Linux systems on Hyper-V.
  • Install and troubleshoot Host Based Security System (HBSS).
  • Run, comprehend, and implement security-required modifications to systems based on Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) and Tenable Network Security Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) reports.
  • Support accreditation requirements associated with all Linux systems for the Division to include reviewing and updating Plan of Action and Milestone.
  • Serve as the principal advisor on all Linux matters involving the security and functionality of an information system.
  • Provide documented procedures as applicable to daily tasks performed.
  • Assist in the development of Linux security policies and procedures and to ensure compliance with those policies and procedures.
  • Monitor all Linux systems in accordance with accreditation requirements.

 Requirements:

  • Per DoD Directive 8570.01-M or successor, this position requires IAT Level 2;
  • Certification in Linux system administration.
  • Eligible for IT Level-II designation under DoD Directive 8570.01M or its successor.
  • Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience administering Linux systems;
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining Linux servers;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience supporting Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS;
  • Demonstrated Skills in three or more of the following : Administration of Red Hat Linux 7, Red Hat Linux 8, CentOS Linux, Ubuntu Linux, to include drivers, applications, vulnerabilities, security requirements and postures, quarterly STIG updates, interact with corporate and vendor SMEs to solve complex problems, RMF experience, ACAS scanning, build and maintain Linux Systems;
  • Demonstrated experience documenting trouble reports from STIGs to support computer equipment modifications.

Compensation Details

  • Salary range: $135K – $145K.
