Systems Administrator (Windows)

Location: NSWCDD, Dahlgren VA On-Site

Clearance: Secret

Certifications:

• Windows system administration.
• IAT Level 2 or IT Level-II

 Tasking:

• Build, configure security requirements, update, and install required software on Windows & Red Hat
• Create build disks for Windows & Linux OS to support new system deployment and rebuild of deployed systems
• Create and support local Windows & Linux user accounts
• Support storage infrastructure with Access Control Lists
• Configure and maintain virtual Windows & Linux systems
• Install and troubleshoot Host Based Security System (HBSS)
• Run, comprehend, and implement security-required modifications to systems based on Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) and Tenable Network Security Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) reports
• Support accreditation requirements associated with all Windows & Linux systems for the Division to include reviewing and updating Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M)
• Serve as the principal advisor on all Windows & Linux matters involving the security and functionality of an information system
• Provide documented procedures as applicable to daily tasks performed
• Assist in the development of Windows & Linux security policies and procedures and to ensure compliance with those policies and procedures
• Monitor all Windows & Linux systems in accordance with accreditation requirements

 Requirements:

• Five (5) years of demonstrated experience administering Windows systems;
• Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining Windows systems;
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience supporting Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS;
• Demonstrated Skills in three or more of the following: Administration of Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, to include drivers, applications, vulnerabilities, security requirements and postures, quarterly STIG updates, interact with corporate and vendor SMEs to solve complex problems, RMF experience, ACAS scanning, build and maintain Windows Systems;
• Experience documenting trouble reports from STIGs to support computer equipment modifications.
• Experience with Linux a plus.

Location: NSWCDD, Dahlgren Va. On-site

Certifications: CompTIA Security+ (nice to have)

 Tasking:

• Primary tasking includes developing code for Navy Weapons systems and simulations.
• Identify and communicate development concerns to leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
• Seven (7) years of professional experience providing technical support in:
  • Software requirement analysis
  • Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software.
• Software development experience with:
  • One or more of the following high-level computer languages: C/C++, Java.
  • RedHat operating system, using standard UNIX/Linux tools and utilities.
  • Implementation of track modeling and time algorithms.
  • Inter-process communications based on publish/subscribe and client-server models using TCP/IP sockets, CORBA, and DDS.
  • Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively to provide sound design and development work product in conjunction with the efforts of engineering team leaders.
  • Demonstrated capability to utilize Agile-like software development methodology.
  • Demonstrated capability developing software in a multi-threaded/multi-process environment.
  • Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) in designing/documenting a software intensive object-oriented system.
  • Experience testing software code for multiple hardware configurations.
