354 Electrical Engineer

Location: NSWCDD-ON-site Dahlgren VA

Clearance: TS/SCI

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field, or 4 years of relevant technical experience.
  • 5+ years in electrical design and engineering.
  • Proven ability to plan and design projects to meet objectives.
  • Experience with industry-standard CAD tools, including:
  • Altium, Agilent ADS, LT Spice, MATLAB, LabVIEW, CST, HFSS
  • Skilled in creating technical data packages and documentation per industry standards.
  • PCB design experience

Responsibilities

  • Conducts R&D, testing, and integration of custom embedded systems and specialized communications.
  • Develops rapid engineering solutions to unconventional threats by translating high-level requirements into integrated microelectronic designs.
  • Designs electrical circuits, RF receivers, and compact antennas with minimal oversight. Performs analog/digital circuit and embedded microcontroller design, modeling, schematic capture, PCB layout, and coding.
  • Lead integration and testing, including electromagnetic and environmental verification, to ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborates with Project Leads to refine requirements, research alternatives, and assess technical risks.
  • Builds prototypes to validate designs, working with technicians as needed.
    Coordinates with mechanical engineers for integration into custom enclosures.
  • Documents designs and follows configuration management protocols.

  • Analytical and negotiation skills use logic to assess solutions and negotiate to gain support for proposed actions internally and externally.

  • Knowledgeable in designing, developing, fabricating, and assuring quality of electrical/electronic systems for harsh environments.
  • Quickly learns and applies innovative electrical engineering technologies.
  • Confidently identifies problems and evaluates solutions.
  • Skilled in analog/digital circuits, embedded microcontrollers, and compact antenna design. Proficient in performing, documenting, and defending modeling and analysis.
  • Experienced with test methods, diagnostic tools, and software for inspecting and resolving electrical system issues.
