380 Lead Systems Engineer
SDC is seeking a motivated and results-driven Senior Systems Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren Division, H20. In this dynamic role, you will provide technical oversight and expertise for the development of the AN/SQQ-89 Advanced Baselines, primarily focusing on surface Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) functional areas, including Contact Management and Weapons Control.

Key Responsibilities / Tasking
- Technical Oversight: Provide guidance to integrator developers, ensuring performance and interface requirements are met for the AN/SQQ-89 Advanced Baselines.
- Engineering Analysis: Conduct comprehensive engineering reviews, including but not limited to:
- Performance Specification (P-Spec) baseline releases
- Functional Description Document (FDD) baseline releases
- Interface Design Specifications (IDS)
- Actively participate in the AN/SQQ-89 Requirements Working Group to address performance requirements for Cruiser-Destroyer (CRUDES) platforms and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) baselines.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Participate in Bug Adjudication Board meetings to analyze reported issues within installed baselines.
Education & Experience Requirements/Compensation Details
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline from an accredited institution, or
- Ten (10) years of relevant, demonstrated experience in combat systems, command & control systems, and simulation/stimulation systems related to Surface Ship Undersea Warfare (USW) for U.S. and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) platforms.
Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of professional systems engineering experience in support of Undersea Warfare, including the following:
At least five (5) years as a team leader performing systems analysis, engineering, and mission planning efforts.
- Proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex engineering challenges within platform, weapon, C2, and combat systems for Navy/Joint Warfighting capabilities.
- Experience with both Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop system integration documentation for weapons and C2 systems, including Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Interface Change Requests (ICRs), Interface Design Specifications (IDS), and Weapon Specifications (WS).
- Familiarity with weapons and combat system certification processes, including self-certification criteria.
- Previous experience with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs.
- Willingness to work onsite at NSWC Dahlgren.
Salary $165,000
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in top-level system architecture design and program requirement development.
- Knowledge of maintaining, reviewing, generating, and tracking systems engineering documentation.
- Expertise in evaluating and refining existing system requirements and supporting upgrades.
- Ability to review and contribute to Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Concept of Employment (CONEMP) documents.
- Experience supporting technology refresh initiatives, providing insight on COTS technologies.
- Proven ability to analyze emerging technologies, updates, and potential enhancements for their impact on USW systems.
